#CuriousMoments with Advita
In January 2018, I wasn’t quite sure where I wanted to go in my career. I thought I’d spend my life working in-house. But life had other plans.
After floating about for a while, waiting for inspiration to hit me, I decided to take control of my life in May 2018. I focused on my confidence, which helped me deliver against the audacious goals I set. And things started to fall into place, leading me to launch CommsRebel in 2020.
Despite the pandemic, I ploughed through, co-founding two other businesses and publishing a book, Building a Culture of Inclusivity, six months ago. I still have moments of disbelief when my eye catches my bookshelf, or someone asks me to sign their copy.
I’m sharing this because I know some of you may be feeling miserable at work. But if someone told me my life would be what it is today, I’d have scoffed.
So, my biggest piece of advice to you is to remember that you can change your path. Set your audacious goals and allow yourself to dream big. Talk to people, ask questions, be curious, find a coach and keep taking micro steps towards your goals. Don’t get distracted by those who have never been where you have and keep your focus.
Remember, the best things in life rarely come easy. But if you start building unshakeable confidence, you’ll be surprised at what you can achieve.
So, if you’ve wanted to start a podcast, find a new job, be an author or try something new, go for it – you never know what might happen.
You’ve got this!
