Today is my last day in an in-house role and it feels really strange not to have another role to go straight into. This is because in the new year I will be officially launching my comms consultancy business Comms Rebel! 

I’ve never hidden the fact I’d love to work for myself one day. However, it’s taken me while to get here as I’d convince myself that maybe once I’ve finished a qualification, completed a few workshops or undertaken every comms role going, I’ll be ready. If I’ve learnt anything during this process, you’re never 100% ready and sometimes you just need to take a leap of faith. 

My turning point was two years ago. I’d hit  a career block, had a bout of imposter syndrome and wasn’t sure what my next steps were going to be. I spent some time thinking about what I enjoyed, where I could add the most value, what I wanted to achieve and what was important to me. I realised that if I didn’t take the leap of running my own business at this point then I never will. So this was the day Comms Rebel was born (I’ve got more blogs coming on how I got to this stage!). 

So what is Comms Rebel all about? I can hear you shout through your screens, so below is my well rehearsed one sentence to sum up my business: 

Comms Rebel helps people take the leap to revolutionise the way they communicate in their organisation by helping them use a variety of tools and techniques creatively.
